JANESVILLE, Wis. — A SWAT team surrounded a home in Janesville Friday afternoon after police received a call of a fire near the home of a wanted fugitive.
The Rock County Sheriff’s Office tells News 3 they received a fire call at a home on Eisenhower Avenue near where 32-year-old Joseph Jakubowski lives. A manhunt is underway for Jakubowski after police say he stole 16 high-end firearms from a gun store in Janesville Tuesday and sent a 161-page manifesto to President Trump .
A SWAT team arrived at the abandoned home around 3:45 p.m. in search of Jakubowski, who police thought may have been inside. Authorities did not find any sign of him in the home, Rock County Sheriff Robert Spoden said.
