Suspects In North Side Shooting Appear In Court
Five suspects from last week’s fatal shooting on Madison’s north side made their first court appearances on Friday.
Among those appearing in Dane County court was the man accused of being the shooter, 18-year-old Demetrius Matticx. His bail was set at $1 million for a charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
Four other suspects — Jimmy Leuaxsay, 18, John Leuaxsay, 18, Dreyon James, 18, and Shon Hamilton, 20 — are facing charges of being party to the shooting that killed 20-year-old Jonathan Wilson last Thursday on Troy Drive.
The other suspects’ bond was set at $500,000 apiece.
Authorities said that they believe more arrests are coming. They said that 50 people had some type of knowledge of this shooting.
“Everyone in the department wants to make sure we’ve uncovered every stone and be sure all stones and gotten all the info to ensure justice is served in this scenario,” said Madison police spokesman Howard Payne.
Officials are still looking for Myntrell Jarvis, 18, as a person of interest in the case. They’re asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward by contacting Madison-area Crime Stoppers.
