Suspected speeding stop leads to 6th OWI charge

A man who was stopped Saturday for a suspected traffic violation was arrested for his alleged sixth drunken driving offense, officials said.

Wisconsin State Patrol said a trooper observed an SUV speeding on Highway 60 at County Road T in Grant County at 12:15 a.m. 

Jerry Richards, 47, of Brookings, South Dakota, was arrested on suspicion of sixth-offense operating while intoxicated, according to the report. He was taken to Grant County Jail.
