Suspected drunken driver hits family’s car, police say

MADISON, Wis. — A suspected drunken driver crashed into a car with a man, woman, and their 5-year-old son inside, according to a release from Madison police.
Police said the Ferryville family was stopped Saturday night for a red light at the intersection of Mineral Point and High Point roads when a minivan driven by Ariel F. Mendez-Jurado, 30, of Madison, struck the family’s car from behind.
The adults were treated at a hospital. The boy was not hurt.
Mendez-Jurado was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated causing injury and operating without a valid driver’s license.
