Susanne Norsetter

Susanne “Susie” Norsetter, age 75, of Madison, slipped into eternal rest after a long battle with cancer on Friday, Feb. 12, 2016. She was born in Madison, on Sept. 16, 1940, to Milton J. and Dorothy (Phillipp) Kneebone.

Susie was a 1958 graduate of Central High School where she met her husband, Marlow. They were married on June 20, 1959 in Dubuque, Iowa and made their home in Madison where they raised three children, Philipp (Sandra), Jeffery (Jennifer) and Kellee. She worked outside the home in various office positions for HR Block, Schmidt-Haus Custom Cabinetry and Dean Health Systems, before retiring in 2004. Susie created a home where friends gathered. Christmas was her favorite holiday, inspiring hand-written cards evoking memories and joys of family and friends. She’d often rest in her favorite chair with one of her ever-present books, yet still kept up with conversations. She never missed a thing. Susie was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Kneebone; and her beloved Marlow, husband of 53 years.

She is survived by her children; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Ronald (Marilyn) Kneebone, Sandra (Bill Riley) Kneebone, Patricia Roberts, Judy (Bud Arnold) Schmidt, Linda (Jerad Rechke) Kneebone, Phillip (Chris) Kneebone, Kathy Kneebone Beck, Randall (Kathy) Kneebone and Rick (Marsha) Kneebone; and sisters-in-law, Beverly Kneebone Wood and Kathy Kneebone.

A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com
