Sue A. Frazier

MADISON-Sue A. Frazier, age 80, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016.
She was born on July 31, 1935, the daughter of Chester and Margaret Frazier. Sue was a native of Pennsylvania and a graduate of the Western Pennsylvania Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. She earned her BS and MSN degrees at Indiana University in Bloomington.
Sue served in the US Air Force Nurse Corps, where she rose to Chief Nurse and Captain at Bakalar Air Force Base in Indiana. She was Associate Professor of Nursing at the UW Madison School of Nursing. Sue had a wide circle of friends. She was a supporter of UW women’s athletics, especially women’s basketball. She had a passion for the game of golf, especially the Tuesday morning rounds as part of the foursome affectionately known as the Senior Chicks.
Sue is survived by her brother, Richard Hayden, and her sister, Deborah Hayden. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Hayden.
The UW School of Nursing will host a celebration of Sue’s life on April 22, 2016, from 2 to 5 pm, in the Lake View Room, Signe Skott Cooper Hall, 701 Highland Avenue, Madison.
