Storms possible as front passes Tuesday
Southern Wiscosin in slight risk area

MADISON, Wis. — Storms are possible as a cold front moves through southern Wisconsin on Tuesday.
News 3 meteorologist Bob Lesh said it will be partly sunny, hot and humid Tuesday afternoon with highs around 90 and heat index values as high as 100 in the mid-afternoon. There is a heat advisory for the southwestern corner of Wisconsin through 7 p.m.
Later Tuesday afternoon and evening there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms developing along a cold front moving through the area. There will be a “cap” on the atmosphere which will suppress storm development, but if and when it is broken, these storms would quickly become strong to severe.
The main threats will be high winds and large hail along the line of storms. The Storm Prediction Center has most of southern Wisconsin at a slight risk of severe weather.
Behind the front it will be mostly sunny, cooler and less humid with highs in the upper 70s on Wednesday.
