Stolen items found in backpack of man ‘lurking’ near burglarized cars, police say

Police said a 19-year-old Madison man was arrested after he was seen lurking near burglarized vehicles and stolen property was found in his possession this week.
Madison police said officers responded to a report of a person dressed all in black possibly going through cars on the 1300 block of Tompkins Drive at 3:40 a.m. Monday.
Madison spokesman Howard Payne said officers parked a distance away and canvassed the area for movement. They quickly noted a subject, later identified as Anthony Limon, “lurking around the area,” according to the report.
When police tried to speak to Limon and told him to stop, Limon ran. An officer chased him and took Limon into custody.
Police said stolen items, including gold coins, change, sunglasses, electronics chargers and prescription medications, that were reported by the victims correlated to things found in Limon’s backpack.
Limon was arrested on suspicion of possession of illegally obtained prescriptions, theft and resisting an officer.
