Stephen Owen Reppert

Stephen Owen Reppert passed away on Thursday, Aug. 18, 2022. He was born on July 3, 1949, to Charles and Sara (Owen) Reppert in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was the oldest of 6 children.
Steve was an avid camper and after retiring from a career in the construction industry, he decided that his next adventure would be a full-time self-proclaimed “drifter.” He enjoyed the next 16 years tent camping around the country. Steve spent winters camping in Quartzsite, Arizona, and the rest of the year camping in Utah with his brother, visiting his son in Wisconsin while camping at his favorite local campgrounds of Token Creek and Lake Kegonsa State Park, and spending time in Denver with his siblings. He spent his mornings gazing at sunrises and feeding his birds, afternoons taking pictures of nature’s beauty, and his sunsets sitting around a campfire enjoying the fresh air.
Steve’s favorite days were spent with family relaxing by the fire, fishing or spending time at one of their homes enjoying each other’s company and sharing stories. He loved to laugh, and his laugh was a loud contagious bellow that would make everyone around him smile.
Steve’s religion was important to him, and he would spend much of his alone time in prayer and expressing his gratitude for his fortunate life. He had a very generous heart, ready to give to anyone in need.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, father, and youngest brother, Glen.
He is survived by his son, Uriah (Cathy) Reppert; sisters, Sue Reppert and Nancy (Wally) Cox; brothers, Tom and Jim Reppert; and his niece, Gwen (Matt) Taylor and their child, Brooks. He is further survived by his two grandchildren, Mia and Jayce Reppert who will miss their Gramps’s stories of Ticklebirds, Sasquatch, and other tales that would make them laugh hysterically.
