St. Mary’s Hospital announces new president

Jon Rozenfeld is returning to SSM Health as president of St. Mary’s Hospital, officials announced Monday.
Rozenfeld will be responsible for leading hospital operations, and will also partner with Damond Boatwright, regional president and CEO of hospital operations for SSM Health Care of Wisconsin, to grow and manage hospital services and ambulatory operations across southern Wisconsin, according to a release.
Rozenfeld has 25 years of executive leadership experience and served as executive vice president/chief operating officer at St. Mary’s Hospital from 2006 to 2012, according to the release. During that time, Rozenfeld was instrumental in the completion and opening of the hospital’s east wing, which nearly doubled the size of the campus, helped implement the Epic electronic health record system and championed an initiative to improve the patient experience.
“I’m excited to return to the Dean and St. Mary’s family and once again be part of the Madison community,” Rozenfeld said. “St. Mary’s Hospital has provided exceptional care for more than 100 years, and I’m honored to help carry on that rich heritage of healing.”
Rozenfeld most recently worked as the chief operating officer for Alexian Brothers Health System in the Chicago metro area, according to the release.
Rozenfeld replaces longtime president Dr. Frank Byrne, who retired in January. Rozenfeld will start May 26.
