South sweeps WFCA All-Star Games

The South reigned supreme Saturday in Oshkosh, winning both WFCA All-Star games.

First, the small schools took the field. Trailing the North 7-0, a couple of local standouts combined for a big play for the South. Darlington defensive end Michael Ruf deflected a North pass and Lodi’s Mike Imbraimi was there to make the catch for the interception.

On the very next play, North quarterback Brandon Matz connected with Platteville’s William Cooley for a 21-yard touchdown.

From there, Sean Madden of Racine- St. Cat’s carried the load, scoring two touchdowns to help the South roll to a 33-13 win.

In the big schools game, it was all South again. The star of the game was Drew Patterson of Sussex Hamilton. Patterson scored two touchdowns to help the South to a 24-7 win.
