South Hamilton Street closes for 8 weeks during Capitol Square construction

MADISON, Wis. — A portion of South Hamilton Street is expected to be closed for construction work the next eight weeks, according to a release.
South Hamilton Street closed Wednesday at the intersection of South Carroll and West Main streets, officials said.
Right turns from South Pinckney Street to East Washington Avenue are currently not allowed, according to the release. The right-turn closure is expected to be reopened Monday.
King Street remains closed at the East Main Street and South Pinckney Street intersection, officials said. The closure is expected to last about eight weeks.
Metro Transit buses are detoured onto the Outer Loop during construction.
The Capitol Square project is expected to last until the end of July.
