Sheriff investigates mailbox vandalism complaints
FORT WINNEBAGO, Wis. — Officials are investigating reports of multiple mailboxes damaged in Columbia County this week.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office said it received reports Wednesday night of mailboxes that were damaged on County Road EE and Military Road in Fort Winnebago and Marcellon.
According to the report, numerous mailboxes sustained considerable damage in that area. Based on witness statements, investigators believe that the damage occurred at about 9:30 p.m.
A blunt object was used to damage the mailboxes as the vandal drove through the area, the sheriff’s office said.
