Sheriff: Driver arrested for OWI after train collides with car

A driver in Mauston was arrested for OWI Sunday evening after a train hit a car along West State Street.

Mauston police were called to the accident at 5:18 p.m. Authorities say the driver was able to get out of the vehicle in time and was not hurt.

The car was severely damaged while the train suffered minor damage.

Crews from Canadian Pacific Railroad came out to inspect the train and tracks.

Mauston police continue to investigate the crash.
