Sheriff: Child in vehicle with impaired driver; Ignition interlock tampering suspected
DODGEVILLE, WIs. — A child was in the vehicle with a woman who was charged with her third impaired driving offense Wednesday in Iowa County, officials said.
The Iowa County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy stopped a vehicle at 2:32 p.m. on Highway 151 near mile marker 39.
According to the report, 44-year-old Nikki Brown, of Milwaukee, was arrested on suspicion of third-offense operating while intoxicated. A child under the age of 16 was in the vehicle.
Brown also faces charges of tampering with an ignition interlock device, failure to obey a traffic signal or officer, operating after revocation and resisting an officer.
Brown was taken to the Iowa County Jail and booked. The sheriff’s office said Thursday that Brown was in custody, pending a bail hearing.
