Shell casings found after reports of shots fired, police say

MADISON, Wis. — Many shell casings were found early Saturday morning after officers were called to South Fair Oaks Avenue for reports of gunfire, according to a release.
Several callers reported hearing gunfire around 3:50 a.m. in the 200 block of South Fair Oaks Avenue, police said.
One resident told officers they saw a car racing north on South Fair Oaks Avenue after they heard the gunfire.
Officials said they didn’t find any property damage or injured people.
