Schimel congratulates law enforcement on major drug bust

Wisconsin Attorney General Brad Schimel congratulated local law enforcement and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation on a drug bust that led to the apprehension of 18 major suspects Tuesday.

According to a press release from Schimel’s office, the arrests led to the seizure of large amounts of both cocaine and methamphetamine, as well as nearly $1 million in cash. Schimel congratulated the law enforcement officials on the arrests, but stressed that this was not an exception from their usual actions.

“Today’s bust deserves praise and attention, but this is nothing out of the ordinary. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation actively assists local law enforcement agencies with the apprehension of drug dealers and seizure of harmful drugs like heroin and meth every day,” Schimel said in the release.
