Sandwich shop robbed at knifepoint

A Monona sandwich shop was robbed at knifepoint Thursday night, police said.

Monona police said officers responded to a report of a robbery at 8:19 p.m. at the Subway on  West Broadway.

The robber was described as a 30-year-old white man, 5 feet 6 inches tall with a medium build, according to a news release. He was wearing a black sweatshirt with a gray hood, black face mask and white framed glasses. The man was armed with a knife and had a black bag.

The robber demanded money and displayed a knife. He left on foot in an unknown direction.
