Sandra Ruth Lorraine Stanley

Sandra “Sandy” Ruth Lorraine Stanley passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Oakwood Village West, Hebron Oaks.

She was born on February 26 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of Herbert C. and Myra A. (Gerling) Burr. Sandy graduated from Washington High School. She went to college at UW-Milwaukee for 2 years and was a graduate of Pharmacy School at UW-Madison. She was married to her husband Jim in 1960; they had 3 children.

Sandy’s interests included bowling; she was a member of the Madison Women’s Bowling Association since 1960. She was a youth bowling coach for 35 years and a member of the youth bowling board as well. She coached the MATC college team and was an original organizer of the Badgerland Youth Bowling Tour (BYBT). Other interests included softball, swimming, cards, tennis, traveling to car museums and tennis tournaments, doing puzzles and watching the bluebirds and deer up north.

She took pride in her Pomeranians Layci, Cinni and Sparkli, along with taking care of her two grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Jim; daughter, Linda (Keith), son, Larry; grandchildren, Nick and Karly; sister, Barb (Don) Neubauer; and her niece and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Lee Robert and her parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017, at JOYCE-RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 5701 Odana Road. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home on Monday.
