San Jose Sharks call up La Crescent native Eriah Hayes
Right-winger was playing at AHL affiliate in Worcester, Mass.
The San Jose Sharks have called up La Crescent, Minn. native Eriah Hayes, his mom tells News 8.
Hayes, who was playing at the Sharks’ AHL affiliate in Worcester, Mass., found out this morning. His coach told him he’s taking a flight to Denver, where San Jose plays Saturday.
La Crescent hockey coach JP Piche said he knew this day would come, but it’s hard to know what your reaction will be. He said he pretty much jumped out of his chair.
Hayes had five goals and eight points in 29 games at Worcester. The Sharks signed him to a contract on April 5 2013.
San Jose plays at Chicago Sunday.
