Sally Joann (Larson) Peterson

MADISON-Sally Joann (Larson) Peterson, age 72, of Madison, passed away peacefully after a brief illness on Monday, April 2, 2012, at Meriter Hospital. She was born on Aug. 21, 1939, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Althord and Florence (Howard) Larson. She was formerly married to Alfred Peterson. Sally graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1957. She went to Carroll College and UW-Madison, where she graduated with a degree in social work. Sally was a social worker and probation officer in Madison.
She lived most of her years in Black River Falls, with her mother and son. In September of 2011, Sally moved to Cottage Grove to be close to family. She loved to read, garden, mow the lawn on her riding lawn mower, and host parties on the deck with friends and family.
Sally is survived by her son, Eric (Kim); sister, Betty Larson Gentz; great –niece, Mariah (Betty’s granddaughter); Mariah’s mother, Angela; and aunt, Arlene Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Jeffrey Gentz; and many aunts and uncles. Services will not be held according to Sally’s wishes.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at Meriter ICU. We thank everyone for loving her as much as you did. Sally would like you to know ” You made my life a joy. It was enjoyable, fun, never-boring, and always interesting. Remember the good, the bad, and the goofy parts. Remember what a good life we had and to never regret life. Live life to the fullest when I am gone, I’ll be waiting for you there.”
