Ruth Leola Gathright

Ruth Leola Gathright, age 80, of rural Richland Center, died unexpectedly on Thursday, January 10, 2013. She was born February 16, 1932 in Lancaster, Wisconsin, the daughter of Floyd and Leola (Heberlein) Bailie. Ruth graduated from Lancaster High School and later from UW Platteville in 1952. She was united in marriage with Harvey Gathright, who survives her. Ruth taught school for many years, and also served as a substitute teacher. She enjoyed gardening and was known for her flower gardens. Ruth was a long time member of the Boaz Homemakers.

In addition to her husband Harvey, Ruth is survived by two sons: Wayne Gathright of Madison, Phillip Gathright of Madison, one daughter: Sharon (Alex) Blohowiak, Two grandsons: Simon and Henry Blohowiak.  Her Aunt Edith Smith of Lancaster.  Her Uncle Wilbur ‘Bill’ Heberlein of Lancaster. Other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 at the PRATT MEMORIAL CHAPEL. Pastor Craig Peach will officiate and burial will be in the Richland Center Cemetery. Visitation for Ruth will be held at the Pratt Memorial Chapel on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 3:00 PM until 6:00 PM and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until service time. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the Gathright family.
