Russian-linked Facebook ads specifically targeted Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. — Russian-linked Facebook ads specifically targeted Wisconsin and Michigan, according to an article from CNN .
The two states were crucial to Donald Trump’s victory last November, CNN said.
Some of the ads appeared highly sophisticated in their targeting of key demographic groups in areas of the states that turned out to be pivotal on Election Day. The ads used divisive messages aimed at breaking through the clutter of campaign ads online, CNN reported.
The focus on Wisconsin and Michigan builds evidence that the Russian group tied to the ads were employing a wide range of tactics that were potentially aimed at interfering in the election, CNN said.
