Rolla R. Perry

Rolla R. Perry, age 73, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on Tues. May 23, 2017.

He was born in Ann Arbor, MI. to the late Rolla H. and Vera B. (Johnson) Perry Jr. He graduated Ypsilanti High School in 1961 and later enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until Mar. 1969. Rolla was united in marriage to Catania F. Lilly in Flatrock, MI. on April 5, 1968. Together they moved to Wisconsin when Rolla took a job for Wisconsin Power and Light at the Portage Power Plant. He continued his career with WP&L over the next 30 years working at both the Wisconsin Dells and retiring from the Prairie du Sac Hydroelectric Dam in 2005. He enjoyed the outdoors, deer and turkey hunting. In his younger years he played baseball, softball and basketball and continued to be a devout Wisconsin Badger’s fan. Rolla was a member of the Graceway Church for the past 25 years. His love for the Lord was prevalent in his words and actions. He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at peace with his creator.

He is survived by his wife, Catania; 3 children, Deborah (Kerry) Sowl of Madison, Randal Perry of Sauk City, and Robin (Jeremy) Walker of Watertown; 7 grandchildren, Dominick, Rick, Sheila, Elijah, and Bailey Sowl, Ella and Madelyn Walker; stepmother, Mary Perry; 2 sisters, Shirley (Ed) Sharp and Martha (Harold) McKnight; he is further survived by other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Comstock and a sister, Phyllis Smith.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Sat. May 27, 2017 at Graceway Church, 65 13th St., Prairie du Sac, WI. A visitation service will be held from 9:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow in the Sauk City Cemetery with Military Rites accorded by the Lachmund-Kramer VFW Post 7694.
