Aaron Rodgers is entering his 15th NFL season.

Green Bay — Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has no issues with the fact that he won’t take a single snap in a preseason game. He’s ready to unveil the Packers new offense when they kick off the regular season next Thursday in Chicago. Rodgers said he thinks the efficiency’s been good and the tempo’s been high at practice.

“[Left tackle David] Bakhtiari actually pulled me aside toward the end of this practice and said ‘It’s looking pretty good out there. What are we doing differently?'” Rodgers said. “I said ‘We’re finally kind of running all of our stuff.’ It’s all kind of in at this point. The package to choose from is a lot bigger. It’s been fun to see the execution and guys making plays. I like where we’re at offensively.”

Head coach Matt LaFleur said he’s still planning for the preseason finale, but the starters and back-ups are looking forward to the season opener. Every Packers preseason game has been on a Thursday, so they’ll get to keep their “game week” schedule the same, which allows them to get a head start on the Bears.

“It’s really allowed us to get into a pretty good rhythm in terms of our weekly schedule,” LaFleur said. “Although we’re doing some stuff for those guys who are getting ready to play against the Chiefs, some of the guys have been more focused on the Chicago game.”

Green Bay and Chicago open the season Thursday (Sept. 5) at 7:20 from Soldier Field.
