Rod J. Scheib

MONONA-Rod J. Scheib, age 96, of Monona, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2016.

He was born on July 5, 1919, in Madison, the son of Joseph and Matilda Scheib. He was married to Ann Isbel and Bonnie Herda. Rod served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked on his real estate properties until the age of 93.

Rod enjoyed fishing, sports and living on the lake. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather.

Rod is survived by his sons, Joseph (Denise) Scheib, Jim (Catherine) Scheib and Rod (Sarah) Scheib; step-daughters, Nancy Germann and Linda Corti; grandchildren, Chelsey, Austin (Amber), Andrew, Lauren and Savannah; great-grandchildren, Adriana, Lilyana, Phoebe and Jessa; and special friend, Ramona Eberhart. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sue Scheib; grandson, Kyle Endres; and brother, Melvin Scheib.

Funeral services will be held at BETHEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 312 Wisconsin Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Feb. 5, 2016. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or Agrace HospiceCare.
