Rock county officials prepare for heat advisory with cooling centers

Rock County will make several cooling centers available to the public Saturday in preparation for the heat advisory from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., according to a release from the Rock County sheriff.
According to the release, children and older adults are most at risk. The sheriff’s office advised that residents stay hydrated, wear loose fitting, lightweight, light colored clothing, avoid strenuous exercise and check on family, friends and pets. Residents are also advised to keep water available to pets and keep them out of parked vehicles at all times.
These cooling centers in Rock County will be available for relief from unbearable heat:
Beloit Public Library, 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Beloit Salvation Army, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Beloit Senior Center, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Clinton Senoir Center, 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Clinton Public Library, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Edgerton Public Library, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Evansville Creedside Place Communty Center, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Evansville Eager Free Public Library, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Janesville Senior Center, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Janesville Mall, 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Janesville Salvation Army, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Janesville Hedberg Public Library, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Milton Public Library, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Milton, The Gathering Place, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
