Roberta J Gedel

Roberta “Bobby Jean” Gedel, 89 passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Mile Bluff Medical Center, Mauston.
Bobby Jean was born February 2, 1928 in Mauston the daughter of Herman and Lucy (Zimmerman) Fletcher.
She was united in marriage to John Gedel Jr. Together they lived on the Lemonweir River near Mauston, where she referred to it as “Gedels Wildlife Ranch” where Bobby still lived with her dog Mischa, who could do no wrong. Bobby was a faithful member of the Bible Baptist Church in New Lisbon. Bobby has constantly shown great concern for people and animals devoting hours caring for both. She enjoyed caring for the deer, raccoons, birds and squirrels that visited her feeders. Bobby enjoyed many adventures throughout her life. Garage sales, games with the nieces and nephews, long walk down her driveway, and visiting Alaska. Most important she loved to visit the family and friends. Family could always count on the annual Mother’s Day dinner.
Bobby is survived by her niece and caregiver Colette (Wier) Babcock, nephew and caregiver Tony Babcock and many other nieces and nephews, her sister-in-law Rosemary (Gedel) (Carl) Wier and other relatives and friends.
Bobby was preceded in death by her husband John Gedel Jr., her parents Herman and Lucy Fletcher and her 12 siblings.
Bobby will always be remembered by her big smile and tenderness of heart.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Bible Baptist Church, New Lisbon where friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
Burial will be at the Rose Cemetery.
