Robert H. Kruchten

Robert H. Kruchten, age 76, passed away peacefully at Meriter Hospital in Madison, surrounded by family on Fri. June 16, 2017 after a courageous 10 year battle with cancer.

He was born in Roxbury on March 3, 1941 to the late Michael and Lucinda (Schroeder) Kruchten. Bob married Jaqulin Ziegler on March 14, 2001. Their years together were filled with travel, many adventures, but most of all love and laughter. Bob lived and farmed most all of his life in Roxbury. Upon semi-retirement he worked for Consumers Co-op in Sauk City and Lodi Canning Company where he made many long lasting friendships. Bob loved people, had a smile for everyone, was a great story teller and loved playing euchre and pool. He will be remembered for his strong faith, sweetness, good nature, humor, generosity and love of family.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jackie; siblings, Bernard (Barb), Janet Nelson (Jim), Bernadine Skolaski (Dennis), Don (Sharon), Marlene Lamb (Les), Ray (Ruth), Steve (Jane), Mike (Cherie), Joan Meier (Ed) and Julie Shimpach (Dave); stepchildren, Craig (Katie), Lynn (Ron) and Andrea (Zuriel); step-grandchildren, Michael, Mya, Dylan, Makayla and Blake; the Ziegler family and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Gerald and Leon; nephew, Kevin Kruchten; his first-wife, Kay (Karls); mother and father in-laws, Arnold and Pricilla Karls, and Allie and Alyce Ziegler.

A memorial mass will be held at 10:30 am on Thurs. June 22, 2017 at St. Norbert’s Catholic Church, Roxbury. Interment will follow in the St. Aloysius Cemetery, Sauk City.
