Robert Bannan

Robert “Bob” W. Bannan, age 67, of Sauk City, passed away on Friday, May, 6th in the comfort of his own home with his family by his side. He fought a yearlong battle with MDS/MPN and Leukemia. Bob was born June 8th,1954 to Philip and Julia (Barbian) Bannan of West Point Township. He grew up on the family farm and after graduating from Sauk Prairie High School in 1972 he attended the University of Wisconsin.

He was married to the love of his life Kathy (Keith) Bannan on May 2nd, 1987, and had recently celebrated their 35th anniversary. They had one child Avery Bannan whom he adored. Bob worked for Wick Homes and drove a milk truck until he found his calling in sales. For over 30 years he worked for Penn Life and American General traveling the state until his retirement.

Bob enjoyed camping, traveling and spending time with family. He was talented with woodworking and enjoyed helping Avery remodel a house. If the Badgers or Packers were playing he could be found at the game or yelling at the TV. Bob could strike up a conversation with anyone about anything, especially current events and history. His sense of humor was infectious and continued even after his diagnosis. He said, “if I don’t laugh, I’ll cry”.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Avery; siblings, John (Linda) Bannan, Elaine “Suz” Kowalke, Tom (Nancy) Bannan, Mary (Dan) Brumm, and Jim (Sharon) Bannan; many nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Eulaine Kohlman and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother-in-law Ken Kowalke, and niece Anna Bannan.

Bob was a loving husband and devoted father; he was a kind and generous man and has left our hearts broken. We love you forever and always.
