Robert Berlin Peyton

Robert “Jack” Peyton, age 83 of Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin died Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at Meriter Park Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at the Big Spring Congregational Church in Big Spring, Wisconsin with Pastor Bob Brandhagen officiating. Burial will be at the Big Spring Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Picha Funeral Home in Wisconsin Dells on Saturday, June 2, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. and on Sunday at the church from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service at 1:00 P.M.
Jack was born August 3, 1928 in Troy Mills, Iowa the son of Earl and Fern (Fay) Peyton. He grew up in Iowa and went to Auctioneer School there and was known as Colonel R.J. Peyton. Jack was an Army Veteran and served in the Korean Conflict. He married Bertha Owen in Wisconsin Dells on August 3, 1953. They spent many years working together doing auctions, farming and running a daycare. He had a love for farming and auctioneering. He also loved taking rides and spending time with his beloved wife Berta as well as spending time with his grandchildren and family. He had many friends and acquaintances everywhere. He loved to visit and carry on a conversation with anyone. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed sharing stories and jokes.
Jack is survived by his sons, Dennis (Kim) of Montello, WI and Roy (Penny) of Wisconsin Dells; daughter, Merry (Tim) Schultz of Wisconsin Dells; brothers, James Peyton of Independence, IA and Thomas (Charlotte) Peyton of Winthrop, IA; 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Berta; an infant brother and his brother, Roger.
