Robber tries to steal $200 of liquor from Target and strikes security guard

MADISON, Wis. — A man attempted to steal $200 worth of liquor from a Target store Saturday night and hit a security guard in the head, police said.
The incident took place at the 201 Junction Rd. Target location.
The security guard saw the man attempting to steal the liquor about 8:30 p.m. and confronted him. The man then hit the security guard in the head and knocked him down, police said.
Police said the sman fled in a red Ford Taurus with no license plate.
The man was described as African-American, 50-60 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall and about 250 pounds, with a short gray beard,. He was wearing a brown jacket and blue jeans.
