Robber takes cash register from Madison sandwich shop

MADISON, Wis. — A Subway restaurant was robbed Wednesday by a man who took the cash register, according to a release from Madison police.
Officers were called at 5:25 p.m. to the restaurant at 1814 W. Beltline Highway.
An employee told police the robber kept a hand in his pocket, trying to make it appear he had a gun, while demanding cash from the till. The employee told the robber he didn’t have a key to open the register.
The employee told police the robber took the cash register and ran.
The robber is described as black, in his 40s, 6 feet, 2 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a light gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt with the hood up.
