MADISON, Wis. —A road rage incident on the eastbound Beltline last weekend has left two victims shaken and disturbed, according to Madison police.
The incident happened around 6:15 p.m. last Saturday on the eastbound Beltline near Mineral Point Road.
According to police, a 26-year old driver from Sauk City said he was driving east toward Mineral Point Road with a friend from Madison when they saw someone tailgating. Shortly after that, someone driving a green Hyundai made a lane change. Police said that caused the driver of a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse to swerve onto the road’s shoulder. The victims were not involved and continued driving.
Soon after, police said the Eclipse raced to catch up with the driver from Sauk City. The car slowed down dramatically, and the driver from Sauk City looked over to see the passenger in the Eclipse rubbing his chin with a black handgun. Police said the passenger then pointed it at the other driver, and smirked. The couple got off of the busy highway and called for police.
Police are looking for a white man, approximately 35 years of age, weighing around 250 pounds, with dark hair, a goatee, who was wearing a black, short-sleeved shirt. He was a passenger in a silver Mitsubishi Eclipse with a loud exhaust, dark-tinted windows , and a sunroof.
