Road rage incident ends in drunken driving charges

Deputies: Incident involves tailgating, passing, speeding

CLYMAN, Wis. — A 76-year-old man faces drunken driving and gun charges after confronting a woman during a road rage incident Saturday night, officials said.

Around 8:50 p.m., Dodge County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to reports of road rage incidents in the Watertown area and in the village of Clyman, according to a release.

The incident involved a 29-year-old Milwaukee woman and a 76-year-old Clyman man, deputies said. The road rage incident involved tailgating, passing and speeding.

The 76-year-old man allegedly confronted the woman in Clyman, where threats and a physical confrontation occurred, according to the release. The 76-year-old man was eventually arrested on charges of first-offense operating while intoxicated, being armed while intoxicated and disorderly conduct with a firearm enhancer.

Deputies said no charges or citations are being requested against the woman.

“This incident could have ended very badly,” Dodge County Sheriff Patricia Ninmann said in the release. “Drivers who have a complaint about the actions of another driver should contact law enforcement so that it can be handled in the appropriate manner. Thankfully no one was injured and the impaired driver was removed from the roadways.”
