Rick L. Belken

Rick L. Belken, 58, of Platteville, died on Sunday, April 22, 2012, at his home.
Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2012 at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Rev. Brenda Whitford will officiate. Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service at the Melby-Bendorf Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville. Memorials may be made to the Rick L. Belken Memorial Fund. Rick was born on February 13, 1954 in Platteville the son of Jerry and Iola (Lee) Belken. He graduated from UW-Platteville with a degree in Building Design & Construction. He worked for B & W Milling in Platteville for many years. Later he worked for Wolohan Lumber of Madison and most recently was a Software Engineer for Eagle Point Software, Dubuque.
Rick was a self-taught “jack of all trades”; he enjoyed doing woodwork, yard work. He loved his dogs and especially being around his family, and three grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Kate Lisk of Cuba City, WI; three grandchildren, Hunter, Wyatt and Leila; father, Hank (Judy) Bossenbroek of Platteville; brother, Dan (Angela) Belken of Rewey, WI; step-brother, John Bossenbroek of Fredericksburg, TX; aunts and uncles, Nancy and Tom Ziegenfuss of Platteville; Judy (Fred) Mehren of Rockford, IL; Jeanette Sherwin of Platteville; and other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
