Richard Thomas “Rick” Surrarrer-Flowers

Richard Thomas “Rick” Surrarrer-Flowers, age 59, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly while doing what he loved, camping, on Saturday, August 5, 2017, He was born on Aug. 23, 1957, in Sheboygan, the son of Raymond and Nancy (Perl) Surrarrer. Following high school Rick began traveling and saw 48 states. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. Rick owned and operated CFM Building Services for over 25 years. He loved being outdoors, camping, was a skilled map reader and loved playing baseball. Rick was a jack of all trades, especially as a skilled machinist and could build anything, a talent he learned from his father. Rick was a free spirit who will be deeply missed by his wife, Maija Liisa Surrarrer; daughter, Angela Surrarrer; son, Eric Surrarrer; four grandchildren; brother, Steve (Amy) Surrarrer; and many extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Memorial Gathering will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
