Richard H. “Dick” Cochrane

Richard H. “Dick” Cochrane, age 90, died Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Sauk Prairie Memorial Hospital. He was born in Baraboo on June 23, 1921, the son of the late Richard and Vivian (Butterfield) Cochrane. He was united in marriage to Hazel McKenzie on May 21, 1946. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2002. Dick was a veteran of WWII having served with the U.S. 8th Air Force 457 Bomb Group, 751st Bomb Squadron, in Glatton , England. He was formerly employed with the village of Sauk City retiring in 1986.
Survivors include two sisters, Violet (Lewis) Peterson of Portage and Ella Wakehauser, of Oxford; nieces and nephews; special friends, Mike and Mary Schell and Brian and Dennis Schell; other friends and neighbors; and his k-9 friend, Buffy. He was preceded in death by a brother, Vaughn.
There will be no funeral service. Inurnment will be in the Sauk City Cemetery. Memorials can be given to the Sauk Prairie Lachmund Cramaer V.F.W. Post 7694.
