Richard G. Liddle

Richard G. Liddle, 86, of Eagan, Minnesota, formerly of Platteville, Wisconsin, died on Sunday, March 03, 2013 at Ebenezer Hall in Minneapolis.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Platteville. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville. Chapel military rites will be accorded by American Legion Post #42 and VFW Post #5274. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Legion Post 95 Delavan, WI. The Melby Funeral Home & Crematory, Platteville, is serving the family. Richard was born on March 27, 1926 in Delavan, Wisconsin, the son of Robert and Mildred (Lackey) Liddle. He was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Dooley on June 7, 1947 in Delavan, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on January 9, 2010. Dick served in the United States Navy during WW II in the South Pacific theater. He was a sales man for Electrons, Incorporated in Platteville for many years. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Platteville, where he served on the church council and was a pasty maker. He was also a member of the Platteville Optimist Club, former president, and American Legion Post 95 in Delavan.
He is survived by two sons, Richard (Alice) Liddle of Eagan, MN; Jeffrey (Amy) Liddle of Chugiak, AK; five grandchildren, Nathaniel (Alicia) Liddle, Noah Liddle, Claudia (Aaron) Jennings, Brian (Kristi) Liddle, Kelsey (David) Horne; two great-grandchildren, Elliot and Isadora;
