Richard C. “The Richard” Pitz

MADISON-Richard Pitz, age 78, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at home. He was born on June 26, 1934, in Milwaukee, the son of Roman and Catherine (Rivers) Pitz. Richard was very well known as a volunteer at Camp Randall, Kohl Center, and Alliant Energy Center through St. Dennis Light House Ministry. He was known as “The Richard” to many.
Richard is survived by his children, Ann, Jeanne (Steve) Post, Mary Stoker, and Tom (Nancy) Pitz; grandchildren, Fredd (Michelle) Carr, Hunter and Preston Post, and Nelson and Jensyn Pitz; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Camdeyn Carr; as well as a great-grandbaby Carr to be born in August 2013; and a sister, Cathy (Graeme) Jones of Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. DENNIS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 505 Dempsey Road, Madison, at 6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, with Father Kent Schmitt and Deacon David Hendrickson presiding. Private burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be held at the church from 3 p.m. until the time of Mass on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
