Richard A. Pliner

SUN PRAIRIE-Richard A. Pliner, age 69, of Sun Prairie went home to the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2016, at his home.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1946, the son of Robert and Evelyn (Spencer) Pliner of Richland Center. Richard graduated from Richland Center High School in 1964 and was united in marriage to Patricia (McClaren) in 1968. He served in the U.S. Army and worked at Ohio Medical (Datex Ohmeda) for 35+ years. Richard loved to gamble and spend time with his friends at DeJope. His pride and joy were his grandchildren, Thomas, Tyler and Travis, and great-grandson, Treysinn. He was a very loving and devoted father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Michelle (Tom) Schultz of Barneveld; three grandsons, Thomas, Tyler and Travis; great-grandson, Treysinn; father, Robert Pliner of Richland Center; brother, James (Sue) Pliner of Texas; sisters, Sherry (Craig) Peach of Richland Center and Shirley (Glen) Rogers of Boscobel; and nieces, Toni, Betty, Christina, Valarie and Melissa. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Pliner; son, Douglas Pliner; and ex-wife, Patricia Pliner.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 6 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be held at Woodstock Cemetery in Richland Center.
