Reward offered in Lafayette County dogs’ death case
LAFAYETTE COUNTY, Wis. — A reward is being offered to anyone with information on the possible poisoning deaths of three Lafayette County dogs in February.
The Humane Society of the United States said it’s offering a $5,000 reward to anyone with information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for the dogs’ deaths.
On Feb. 5, Tracy Butson and her partner Travis Halverson found their dogs, two purebred heeler puppies and a 5-year-old Australian shepard named Bella, dead on their farm with foam coming out of their mouths . The couple told News 3 they suspected the dogs were poisoned and a nearby neighbor may have been involved.
The Lafayette County Sheriff’s Office said at the time that a deputy investigating the deaths did not find any evidence of foul play, but believes the deaths are an isolated incident.
