Restaurant inside Sauk County hotel damaged by fire

WEST BARABOO, Wis. — A restaurant inside a West Baraboo hotel was damaged by a fire early Sunday morning, fire officials said.
Firefighters responded to the Best Western Hotel located at 725 West Pine Street at 2:55 a.m. where smoke was being seen from the roof of the adjoining Bonzo’s restaurant. Firefighters entered the restaurant through the hotel and quickly extinguished the fire, Baraboo Fire Chief Kevin Stieve said.
Other firefighters swept the hotel to make sure everyone had evacuated safely, Stieve said in a news release.
The restaurant suffered extensive damage to a storage room and heat and smoke damage in the rest of the restaurant, the release said.
No one was injured in the fire, which is under investigation, the release said.
