Renfroe, Padres slam Brewers

San Diego scores six in the ninth

Milwaukee – The Padres used a huge ninth inning to shock the Brewers 8-4 at Miller Park. Milwaukee entered the final frame with 4-2 lead, but the bullpen couldn’t close the door.

Brewers’ closer Corey Knebel walked the bases loaded before giving up an RBI infield single to Travis Jankowski. Knebel was pulled without retiring a batter.

Joakim Soria replaced Knebel and gave up a grand slam to Hunter Renfroe. Soria left the game with an undisclosed injury.

Franmil Reyes hit a solo homer off Jacob Barnes to tally the final run of the game.

The Brewers (66-52) trail the Cubs by two games in the NL Central. The Cubs are off Thursday.
