Read Up! Madison Fund continues to grow thanks to generous donations

Thanks to extraordinary, though not atypical for this community, examples of generosity, the Read Up! Madison Fund continues to grow.

Businesses, individuals, charitable organizations and others are stepping up to help the Madison Public Schools summer reading program to help keep kids reading through the summer and on track to achieve when they return to school.

Nearly $80,000 has been raised, enough to keep MSCR sites open, add a site of two, and get five books apiece – and help getting the most out of them – into the hands of Madison Children.

One example we’d like to bring to your attention: The Edgewood High School chapter of the National Honor Society put on a fundraiser with 10 boys displaying their talents. They collected $850, which they donated to Read Up! Pretty classy, eh?
