Raymond Jensen

Raymond Jensen, age 88, of Janesville, died on Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Huntington Memory Care.

He was born in Reedsburg on March 27, 1924, the son of Walter and Martha (Sabin) Jensen. He had been raised by his Aunt and Uncle, Fred and Jean Jensen. He served in the Korean Conflict and was captured on Nov. 30, 1950, and had been a P.O.W. for 3 ½ years. Ray worked at the Jensen’s Café till 1957, had worked for Fisher Body, and Parker High school for 25 years. He was a 32 Degree Mason.

He is survived by his cousin, Peggy (Ken Conner) Murray of Janesville and Ryan Murray of Milwaukee; sister-in-law, Margaret Jensen of Baraboo; many other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Robert Jensen.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012, at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY with Rev. David Andert officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at SCHNEIDER APFEL SCHNEIDER & SCHNEIDER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY. Lasting Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
