Officials said a brown-and-white speckled puppy bit the woman in the area of East Wilson Avenue around 1 p.m.

According to the release, the dog was probably younger then 6 months old and was only knee height.

The dog was wearing a collar with a yellow tag and was with a white man, 25-35 years old, who said he found the dog and was going to call animal control to find its owner, officials said.
