Madison — The 12th season of Prep Mania started off with a bang. Perennial power Waunakee cruised past fellow Badger Conference power Monona Grove 54-6 in a surprising blowout. The Warriors led 40-6 at half, and the Silver Eagles never established anything on offense.

In other scores from around the area, Madison Memorial won 28-25 at Sun Prairie, La Follette beat Madison West 35-13, Verona beat Janesville Parker 41-7, Watertown knocked off Mount Horeb/Barneveld 39-20, and reigning state champion Black Hawk/Warren (IL) rolled past Fennimore 38-7.
