Potosi Soldier Wounded In Afghanistan
A Wisconsin soldier was severely injured while serving in Afghanistan on Thursday, according to his family.
Sgt. Adam Alexander, 27, of Potosi, was hit by small arms fire in the head, his father said.
Alexander is stable but still listed in critical condition. He was in route to Germany on Thursday night and will go to Texas or Maryland next. His family will go to the hospital once they know which hospital he will be taken to, his father said.
This was Alexander’s first trip to Afghanistan. He enlisted three years ago.
The solider is a recent graduate from University of Wisconsin-Plateville. He studied criminal justice, and he wanted to eventually be a police officer like his father.
Alexander’s father said he is asking the community to pray for his son.
