Portion of Capital City Trail closed last week reopens

Trail temporarily closed to replace culvert in Fitchburg

FITCHBURG, Wis. — The portion of the Capital City Trail that was temporarily closed has been reopened, according to a release.

The Capital City Trail was closed last week to replace a waterway culvert to Longford Terrace in the city of Fitchburg, officials said. The culvert replacement project was successfully completed.

“We appreciate trail users’ patience while we completed this important project,” Dane County Parks Director Darren Marsh said in the release. “The new, larger culverts will be a huge improvement and should eliminate future closures due to flooding and washouts at this location.”
